Um, yes, I'm still alive...

A lot has happened in one year for us: We found out I was pregnant again, made some home improvements for the occassion, welcomed home my sister from Canada, and more recently our in-laws from California, celebrated Esther's 2nd birthday, acquired a rental property, and finally got to meet our little baby boy, John Grant Book. :)

He was 2 1/2 weeks early, born on May 17th, after what can only be decribed as an incredibly intense and short labor (2 hours, 35 minutes). I've since learned that "John" means "God is gracious." This definitely applies to my experience with him. God gave me a labor that I could handle naturally, and an incredibly mellow and easy-to-care-for baby. Whew!

It certainly has been a year of God's gracious blessings, and we continue to trust Him to give us the tools (patience being in shortest supply!) to do the wonderful work he has set before us: growing our marriage, raising our children, and blessing those in need of Him.

Winter 2010-11

So, remember how I said I was going to try posting every week? Yeah... then I got pregnant, and my sister came home from Canada, and my baby became a full-fledged toddler... so.

After feeling like I had the flu for about 10 weeks, I am finally feeling better. I sat on the couch and read approx. 6-8 novels during that time, while Esther happily entertained herself (most of the time). The rest of my family fully enjoyed the holidays while I ate very little and slept a lot. Christmas was wonderful and busy and now I have some cute photos and videos to share, 'cause honestly, I don't remember much of the last 2 months.
