My cat ate my... tomatoes?!?
The Drama of the "Garden"
Aaron and I have been working hard on our yard since last August to whip it into shape. What was once a jungle of four to six foot tall weeds is now bare ground interspersed with small patches of grass we planted and even larger patches of the weed jungle's offspring. How depressing weeds can be! It took Aaron 4 hours just to mow them down and several days to rototill after that. All that work to make a nice new home for more weeds! But, we built our raised beds and will soon be enjoying fresh veggies (and fruit next year) from our own garden, yay! That baby tree in front is a peach, nectarine, apricot, and plum all on one, interested to see how well that works. :)
In the first box here are our raspberries and there are two more fruit trees (a peach and a nectarine). Aaron was a bit jealous of his friend in California who boasted of having a grapefruit tree, a lemon tree, and a kumquat tree at his home near San Diego. I think he's intent on getting our "land" to yield it's fruit. :)

Malachi's First Birthday!
Great pictures of my nephew on his first birthday. He didn't quite get the unwrapping gifts part, but he liked the paper and boxes (typical.) He seemed to handle the cake and ice cream pretty well, but he cried when we sang "Happy Birthday," it was adorable! Then we gave him a bath in the sink, like I said, he got the cake part down really well. :)
