Cat Naps

Since I work early in the morning I often take naps in the afternoon and, of course, my kitty joins me. But she sleeps MUCH longer than I do, and in MUCH stranger positions:

No, really, she's not stretching, she just likes to sleep with her feet in the air! :)

First Hike of the Year

Last saturday we took our first hike of the season. It was a little cool, but just beautiful, and it felt so good to get out. This hike is one we do often, it's in the Boise foothills. The hill with the cross on it is called Table Rock, it's probably about one mile up the front way, 1 1/2 or 2 around the back. The backside is prettier, but we didn't have time to do it and my camera battery died anyway.

We always reward ourselves afterward (and make up for lost calories) by going to Fanci Freeze, an old 1950's style drive-up/walk-up hamburger and shake stand (Ithink it's been there since 1953?). Awesome french fries and chocolate shakes. Mmmmmm.....
