The summer of self- (and home-) improvement

I've set some pretty monstrous goals for myself this summer, the biggest of which is a daunting 1/2 marathon training schedule. 12 weeks to train for the City of Trees Marathon and 1/2 Marathon on October 4th. It'll be tough, but I've got a support group of about 4 ladies that I can run with, so that helps. Oh, and I got a jogging stroller, and found THE sports bra for the "well-endowed" such as myself. Major bonuses! (shedding those pesky 15 post-natal pounds is a bonus too!)

So, as if that weren't enough, I started reading A Tale of Two Cities, by Charles Dickens, and I also want to read Anna Karenina, by Leo Tolstoy. Dickens is tougher that nails to understand, but I love the way he writes his stories, it's so artistic and interesting.

On top of that I have several home improvement challenges: Painting my kitchen cupboards, living room/dining room/kitchen area, and sewing new curtains for those rooms as well.

I don't think I can handle much else this summer, so if you were thinking of asking...

...um... "no."

so sorry

you think dickens is hard... just try tolstoy. russian novelists will screw with your mind. Seriously. although I do highly recommend Crime and Punishment by Feordor Dostoyevsky. However both books you picked are VERY GOOD and both are excellent reads, especially if you are into getting into the existentialism and duality of characters. (yes im a nerd.)

Hey, we should get together to sew curtains...that's on my home improvement list as well this summer!

You are ambitious! But hey, why not?! Better than being complacent. A real life is full of growth, and my dear, you sound like you are on the right path for that! Let us know what you think of the books. Ooh, ooh - and post pictures of the kitchen when you are done! You are a so talented that way, can't wait to see it.
